DOHA, Feb 23 – As reported by Reuters, Qatar has entered into a five-year partnership with AI data solutions provider Scale AI to integrate artificial intelligence into its government services. The initiative aims to streamline operations and improve public sector efficiency in the Gulf nation, a senior executive at Scale AI confirmed on Sunday.
“This collaboration can serve as a model for governments worldwide, and it enables us to make a meaningful impact at an accelerated pace,” said Trevor Thompson, Global Head of Growth at the San Francisco-based company.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the agreement will introduce AI-driven tools such as predictive analytics, automation, and advanced data analysis to optimize governmental functions. Over the course of five years, Scale AI will explore more than 50 potential AI applications for the Qatari government.
While financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, the agreement reflects Qatar’s ambition to position itself as a leader in artificial intelligence amid growing competition from regional neighbors such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Founded in 2016, Scale AI specializes in providing high-quality, accurately labeled datasets to train AI models, including those used by OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The company’s clientele includes major firms such as Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, and AI-focused enterprises like Cohere.
